When the last drops of blood
Are washed away by the soothing rain
Falling on a decayed earth
We won’t be missed
When the poisons of our past misdeeds
Are blown away by the cool breeze
As it drifts past the burnt trees and grass
We won’t be missed
When every trace of the War, for
Water.
Territory.
Survival.
Will be covered up by raging sandstorms
*
We write of the power of nature,
Of Gods and Goddesses showcasing their might,
But where are they?
Is Ra choking on the pollution and smog
That has so blackened our sky?
Have we succeeded in drowning Poseidon
Under the waste dumped in our oceans
everyday?
Where has Demeter gone
Has the bounty she so lovingly provided, disappeared?
*
When the Earth dies
Life dies.
*
We were never needed.
We won’t be missed...
